R. The fixed price is $100 plus shipping. Shipping costs, which include postage and handling, are: $10 for U.S. destinations, $15 for Canadian destinations, and for international destinations, please contact Child’s Own Studio for shipping quotes. All prices quoted are in Canadian funds.

Q. How big is the soft toy?

R. Usually around 12 to 14 inches wide or long.

Q. How do I send the drawing to you?

R. You can upload an image of the drawing (jpeg, gif, png files only) in the on-line order form or you can send it as an attachment to info@childsown.com, or you can send the drawing by snail mail.

Q. How long will it take?

R. Between two and four weeks after payment is processed and I’ve received the drawing. Rush orders are possible, but there will be a surcharge, to cover extra-fast mail service charges.

Q. What are the toys made of?

R. I use a wide range of fabrics that include cotton solids and prints, fleece, cuddleluscious (really, it’s actually called that), upholstery fabric, flannels, etc. The soft toys are stuffed with new, hypoallergenic 100% polyester fiberfill.

Q. What if I’m not happy with the soft toy or cushion?

R. Typically, when the softie is done, you will be notified and be able to check it out on-line. If you’re satisfied with how it looks, it gets sent off to you. Once you receive the softie, if there is a problem, you are welcome to contact me to discuss the matter.

Q. Do you take adult’s drawings?

R. I personally prefer to work with children’s drawings, but occasionally, I have worked with the adult’s (inner child’s) drawings. The best thing to do is contact me with the drawing and I will let you know what I think.

Q. Can you make the soft toy look exactly the same or, a little better, than the drawing?

R. Some people like the lopsidedness of their drawing, and appreciate when the softie captures that aspect. Others prefer that I take some artistic licence. If you feel strongly about either, please let me know.

Q. Can I specify the fabrics I want or can I send you some fabric (an old favourite piece of clothing or blanket) to be used in the soft toy?

R. The more information you give me, the better. I can definitely try to incorporate any fabric you supply that has sentimental value.

Q. Do you have any special promotions or discounts?

R. For every ten orders made through one customer or school, you will get one free order. Through the 10% donation policy at Child’s Own, you can help donate funds to your school; by ordering ten custom made softies, the school will receive $100 plus a Child’s Own Studio gift certificate, which can be auctioned off at a fundraising event.

Q. How do you clean the soft toys?

R. It’s best to spot clean them. Use a damp face cloth and blot out stains.
